Each year at the World Championship of Custom Bike Building the event's sponsors recognize the hard work and commitment of the participating builders with the "Partner Pick of Excellence Awards".

The 2011 award ceremony, held on Sunday evening during the VIP Industry Reception, began K&N recognizing the high standard of work and race inspired engineering done by Satya Kraus on one of his two entries in the Championship - Bolide.

Ben Kudon chose AMFU from Three Two Choppers as Rivera/Primo's Pick of Excellence. The bike was built in the shop of JC and Jimmie Lee Coen with hands-on input from the bike's owner Manny Mercado, under the shop's Build-Your-Own program.

Renegade Wheel's proprietor Chuck Frederick decided that Italy's Garage 65 with the radical billet aluminum build Stargate should receive a $2,000 certificate for wheels from his company as his partner Pick.

It was the traditional styling and radical paint of the chop - Predasaurus - built by Kyne's Kustoms that caught the attention of Clearview Shields and its Partner Pick of Excellence.

The only sidecar outfit to have been entered in the history of the World Championship was unique enough to claim the J&P Cycles Partner Pick of Excellence, with the award going to Abnormal Cycles Union.

Given the radical styling of many of the show bikes built over the years by the Ness family it should be no surprise that V-Twin Mechanic's Spacester was awarded the Arlen Ness pick of Excellence.

A $1,000 gift certificate from Biker's Choice went to Skywalker's Caddy after it was chosen the parts distributor. The V-Rod engined low rider was a joint effort by Moscow Harley-Davidson and Fitil Metal Work.

When it came to Harley-Davidson selecting a winner for a Partner Pick of Excellence its choice was the Polish-built Shovelhead Bit of Freedom by BT Choppers.

The awards ceremony was rounded out when the PowerSport Institute selected John Reed's recently restored Gold Yamaha for its Pick of Excellence. The Yamaha was first shown in the US in1982 when it won the Oakland Grand National Roadster Show and the 2011 World Championship of Custom Bike Building is the only time John plans to show the bike now that he has had it restored.
