Beaulieu show announces second Sturgis prize

Lorne Cheetham, of Ocean Events, organizer of The Custom Motorcycle Show taking place at Beaulieu, UK, over the weekend of June 16-17, has announced the addition of a second £5,000 "Sturgis"prize. The Beaulieu show is a UK Affiliate event to the AMD World Championship of Custom Bike Building.

Along with the £5,000 prize in the Freestyle class towards bike freight and travel expenses to compete at the World Championship of Custom Bike Building in Sturgis, there is now a second £5,000 freight and travel prize for the winner of the Modified Harley-Davidson class which is being provided by Harley-Davidson.

This year's Modified Harley class rules have been updated to match those of the World Championship, and restricts modifications to the frame which must maintain its original geometry. Also new this year is a mandatory run test which all entered bikes must complete to be considered for a prize.

In addition, UK-based custom bike magazines Back Street Heroes and Streetfighters are sponsoring the Freestyle class by supplying the winning trophies, and Italian billet accessories specialist Rizoma is sponsoring the Streetfighter category and will be presenting a trophy and a prize worth 500 Euros to the winning builder.

The full class list for the show is: Freestyle, Modified Harley-Davidson, Daily Ride, Period Chopper (in the) Traditional Style and Streetfighter-styled Performance Custom. The competition is open entry and the online entry form can be found on the event website.

The Custom Motorcycle Show is a part of the Custom and Hotrod weekend hosted by the National Motor Museum at Beaulieu in the New Forest, Hampshire.
